On the afternoon of 11 June, President Song Baowei went to the School of Marxism to hold a site office meeting. Yang Xiao, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the university, the person in charge of the units related to the construction of ideological and political theory courses, members of the team of the School of Marxism, the deans of the departments, branch secretaries, and the office of the school attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Pu Chuanxin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Marxism.

Yang Yunxia, dean of the School of Marxism, combined with General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discussion on the construction of ideological and political theory courses, reported on the overall situation of the ideological and political theory courses serving the cultivation of talents, and emphasised that we should focus on the needs of the students and improve the relevance and attractiveness of the courses.

The deans of the departments of the School of Marxism made reports and speeches on the role of ideological and political theory courses in students' ideological guidance, academic guidance, career planning, employment and further studies, the integration of ideological and political education in universities, schools and colleges, and the exhibition of course plays.

Party and Government Office, Academic Affairs Department, Science and Technology Research Institute, Human Resources Department, Planning and Finance Department, Development Planning Office, Graduate School and other departments in charge of the construction of ideological and political theory courses, the development of Marxism College, combined with their own work to make exchanges and discussions. Yang Xiao said around the construction of ideological and political theory courses, the development should pay more attention to the characteristics and the construction of liberal arts, the reform should follow the principle of teaching priority, the innovation should pay attention to the cross-fertilisation of liberal arts and engineering, and the key is to continuously improve the quality and ability of teachers.

Combined with the actual situation of the school, Song Baowei put forward three requirements for the school to promote the construction of the ideological and political theory course of the university under the new situation: firstly, we should have a deep understanding of the political significance, historical significance and practical significance of the ideological and political theory course, analyse in depth the key role of the ideological and political theory course in the cultivation of talents, and construct the ideological and political theory course that fully embodies the characteristics of NPU as well as the elements of Shaanxi Province; secondly, we should put the Secondly, General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the construction of ideological and political theory courses should be borne in mind, put into action and put into practice; priority should be given to resource allocation and team construction for the construction of the ideological and political theory courses; the mechanism of supervising, inspecting and evaluating the courses should be constantly improved, actions should be accelerated, practical effects should be achieved, and advanced and typical cases should be selected; Thirdly, all relevant units work together to accelerate the construction of the "Digital Intelligence ideological and political theory course " liberal arts laboratory, continuously enrich the teaching and research materials of ideological and political theory courses, innovate the teaching mode of the courses, promote the innovation of research methods, expand the vision of disciplines, integrate platforms and resources, and carry out organised scientific research, so as to push forward the high-quality development of the construction of ideological and political theory courses in our university.
