In order to implement the basic requirements of the CPC Central Committee on strengthening the construction of the discipline of Marxism Theory, and to continuously build and improve the integrated talent cultivation system of the discipline of Marxism Theory for the bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, the School of Marxism held a meeting for on-site examination of the proposed new majors in the meeting room 208 of Chang'an Campus in the afternoon of June 12, 2024. Prof. Lu Weiming from the School of Marxism of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Prof. Zhang Lin from the School of Marxism of Shaanxi Normal University, Prof. Zhao Xueai from the School of Foreign Languages of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Prof. Chen Lin from the School of Management, Prof. Shang Cunhui from the School of Public Policy and Management, and Hou Congrong from the Planning Office of the Ministry of Academic Affairs came to the School of Marxism to conduct the on-site examination. The leadership team of the School of Marxism, the deans of each department, the Office of the School and other relevant personnel attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Pu Chuanxin, Secretary of Party Committee of School of Marxism.

At the beginning of the meeting, Pu Chuanxin expressed his welcome and thanks to all the review experts and watched the propaganda film of the School of Marxism together. Pu Chuanxin said that the party committee of the university attaches great importance to and supports the work of setting up undergraduate major in Marxism Theory, and the opening of the major is not only related to the overall development of the Marxism discipline of the college, but also a further enrichment of the school's talent cultivation system construction, so I ask all the experts to give their valuable opinions, and to give more guidance and help to the school for declaring and constructing the undergraduate major in Marxism Theory.

Subsequently, He Miao, vice dean of the school, made an in-depth analysis and elaboration on the undergraduate major setup of Marxist theory in the school from the background reasons for the new major, analysis of talents' demand, professional foundation, cultivation programme as well as the construction of faculty and staff, and made a detailed report on the necessity and feasibility of the major setup.

After listening to the report of the school, the evaluation expert group, combined with the experience of professional construction and application materials, conducted on-site questioning on the necessity and feasibility of the college's Marxism theory professional establishment, the reasonableness of the cultivation programme, the construction of the teaching staff, etc., and gave pertinent opinions and suggestions on the cultivation objectives, professional establishment, curriculum, quality assurance system, the use of teaching materials and other aspects of the declared materials, etc. Proposed to actively implement the curriculum of "four histories" and Chinese outstanding traditional culture proposed by the Ministry of Education, highlighting the characteristics of national defence colleges and universities.

After the questioning session, the accreditation expert group, accompanied by the leaders of the School, conducted an on-site inspection of the teaching hardware facilities of the programme. The expert group spoke highly of the teaching facilities and environment of the School and made valuable suggestions on how to further improve the teaching conditions.

       The Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Education have clearly stated that "undergraduate majors in Marxist theory should be gradually added, and the system of training personnel for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees should be perfected". The construction of undergraduate majors in Marxist theory is an important foundation for the cultivation of postgraduate students in the discipline of Marxist theory and the shaping of high-level Marxist theory talents. Next, the School of Marxism will seriously organise discussions, combine the opinions and suggestions of the evaluation expert group, continuously improve the professional declaration materials, enrich the content of the professional construction system, seize the opportunity of leapfrog development of disciplines and professions, and continuously open up a new situation of ideological and political theory education in the new era.
