On the afternoon of May 30, Cong Xiaoping, Tenured Professor of the Department of History at the University of Houston, came to the School of Marxism to make an academic report entitled “How to do academic work: reading and writing work on Humanities and Social Sciences”.

First of all, Professor Cong Xiaoping analyzed the discussion of what is academic work. Secondly, Professor Cong Xiaoping explained why academic works should be discussed. At last, Professor Cong Xiaoping summarized the common faults of writing articles by domestic students and scholars.

This report has deepened the understanding of the reading and writing methods of Humanities and Social Sciences research for young teachers and students of the School of Marxism, which benefited them a lot.
