The 4th International Academic Conference on the Development of Human Civilization and Culture, co-sponsored by the Innovative Marxism Research Branch of the World Society of Political Economy, the Marxist Innovation and Development Research Center of Shaanxi (University) Key Research Base of Philosophy and Social Sciences, the School of Marxism of NPU and Dongfang Yi Group, was held in NPU on September 28-29. The conference was an important academic event to celebrate the 85th anniversary of NPU, and nearly 200 experts, scholars, teachers, and students from abroad and China, such as the US, the UK, Russia, Greece, Canada, Mexico, etc. participated in the discussion. The conference was divided into six sessions.

Yang Xiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of NPU, on behalf of the host school of the conference, extended a warm welcome to the scholars from home and abroad, and introduced in detail the brilliant achievements of NPU in recent years in international cooperation, academic discussion, cultural exchanges and other aspects, and said that the university will, as always, attach importance to and strengthen cultural development and cultural education. He pointed out that cultural diversity plays a vital role in the development of culture and the flourishing of civilization. Only by promoting cultural exchanges and carrying out cross-country cultural dialogue can we speed up the construction of modern Chinese civilization.

Professor Sun Shaoyong of the School of Marxism of NPU concluded that culture is an important content of modernization, and the prosperity and development of any country and any nation cannot be separated from the influence of culture. Chinese and foreign scholars have conducted a full discussion on the development of human civilization and culture, which achieved a perfect academic exchange effect. Professor Cheng Enfu expressed his sincere thanks to the organizers of the conference and the participants' active participation. He believed that the conference has produced many innovative theoretical achievements and ideas, which is a profound and innovative academic feast. The development and research of culture should adhere to the guidance of Marxism and the establishment of research institutions and research teams should be strengthened. He hoped that the majority of Marxist workers would increase their efforts in theoretical research and policy research, and produce more academic innovation results.
