On the morning of July 3, Yang Yixin, Standing Committee Member of Board of Trustees and Vice President of NPU, and his party have investigated the talent training work for undergraduates of School of Marxism. Heads of relevant functional departments such as Media Office of the NPU Committee of the CPC, Undergraduate Student AffairsDepartmentofthe NPUCommitteeof the CPC, Human Resources Department, Scientific Innovation Department, Office of International Cooperation, and Teaching Affairs Department, attended the meeting together with all members of the leading group of School of Marxism, which was presided over by Zhang Kaifu, Assistant President and Director of Teaching Affairs Department.
During the meeting, Wu Wenchuan, Party Secretary of School of Marxism, introduced in detail the exploration and achievements in undergraduate training of School of Marxism based on the basic situation of the reform of ideological and political course since the great discussion on talent training in School of Marxism has been carried out in depth, reform and innovation plan of ideological and political course, and the goal of talent training plan for undergraduates of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan. Leaders of other Schools added constructive opinions and suggestions on talent training.
Wang Keqin, Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Department, explained in detail the construction of undergraduate education and teaching projects of School of Marxism from 2017 to 2019, from the perspective of special funding support for “Double First-rate” Universities, special support for education and teaching reform, and financial support of NPU.In addition, he gave suggestions on the problems existing in the development of experimental core-course projects and textbook monographs of School of Marxism.
Subsequently, Quan Jiayue, Cha Gangqiang, Zi Fang, Li Peng, Duan Libing and other heads of functional departments respectively put forward their constructive opinions and suggestions on the undergraduate training of School of Marxism.
In his concluding speech, Yang Yixin answered the questions raised at the meeting.He fully affirmed the undergraduate training work of School of Marxism in the past two years, especially the achievements in the reform and innovation of ideological and political course. Besides, he hoped that based on the current situation, first, we should conduct in-depth researches and establish extensive contacts with School of Marxism in key universities and with well-known experts and scholars in China.Second, from the perspective of curriculum construction and teacher cultivation, and based on the core mission of education, we should continue to strengthen the discussion of talent training and deepen the reform of education and teaching.Third, it is hoped that in the next round of reform, staff of School of Marxism can institutionalize and systematize reforms and highlight the leading nature of reforms, so as to form a set of models that can be promoted.
